In the ancient Greek language there was no distinction between art, craftsmanship and technology. And there is a reason for this. These three notions were all incorporated in one single word, techne. The familiar word technology is a derivative of techne. It is the appreciation of works of techne that made our company renowned not only in Cyprus but also abroad. It is no coincidence that, about ten years ago, John Stonehouse in is article "Cyprus keeps her promise" in the London Daily News wrote:

" We went east to Protaras to stay at the newest hotel the Golden Coast. No expence has been spared in creating a luxurius environment. The huge lounges with inlaid marble floors would do justice to a palace for the Sultan of Brunei."

And in fact speaking of the Sultan of Brunei, when His Majesty had to reside for few days at the Four Seasons Hotel at Limassol to attend the Commonwealth Summit in October 1993, a whole hotel floor had to be rearranged to suit His Majesty's likings. It was then that the technicians of our company were called once again to fulfill a promise and indeed the promise has beed kept.

History and facts:

The company Yiannis Koromias Ltd originates from the firm Yiannis Koromias which was established by its late founderYiannis Koromias and as Mr Arches Koursoumbas (born in 1903) and Mr Adamos Annibas (born in 1916) both testify, this was done in 1940. The company owns a factory elaborating marble, granite and building stone and also produces terrazo tiles. The factory is at an area of 43,000 m2 situated in the industrial area of Kaimakli which is to the north east of the capital of Cyprus Nicosia.
